What we do

Sussex Sign Language Translators and Interpreters (Membership Body)

The Sussex Sign Language Translators and Interpreters group is a membership body for translators, interpreters and lipspeakers registered with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD) living and working in Brighton and Hove, East and West Sussex. The group was established in the late 1990's as a professional support group; it has grown in number year-on-year. An important part of the group's work has been to maintain and raise standards, spreading awareness of the importance of using suitably trained and registered translators and interpreters; this supports the position of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters (ASLI), the professional body for interpreters in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
