Relay Ramble at Northiam - Ewhurst Green

10.30am for 11.00am start.

Routes:

The ramblers will have an option of choosing the A or B routes or both. This will depend on the number of volunteers and ramblers taking part and the weather.

 

Route A:

A 2.7 mile walking route from start to finish. The walk takes you to the delightful village of Ewhurst Green with a view of the Bodium Castle via Bodium on the Sussex Border Path.

Note:

To avoid the very steep hill - walk along the lines which runs diagonally across the cornfield or Meadows where you will find some wooden stiles to help you walk up the hill.

Thirsty Work:

The White Dog Inn, Village Green, Ewhurst Green, Robertsbridge, East Sussex TN32 5TD.

Difficulty:

Average to moderate.

Route B:

If you want to walk further for another 1.5 miles - this route takes you down the sloped hill, crossing over the Kent and East Sussex Railway approaching the River Rother and Bodiam Castle before reaching the Castle Inn for lunch.

Thirsty Work:

Castle Inn, Main Road, Bodiam, East Sussex TN32 5UB.

Walk up a very little sloped road passing Bodiam Railway Station to meet with the rest of ramblers at the White Dog Inn for the return journey to the Fullers Lane Car Park.

Average to moderate.

Duration (approx):

Route A = 1.5 hours, Route B = 1.0 hours (total 2.5 hours).

Distance (approx):

Route A = 2.7 miles, Route B = 1.3 miles (total 4 miles).
